Activity 5: How can we help people with Tissue Engineering?

This activity focussed on the application of Tissue Engineering knowledge and scientific enquiry to see how Tissue Engineering can be used to help patients in healthcare. The class was split into small groups and each group was given the profile of a 'patient' with a particular health problem. They were then set the task of investigating how they could use the skills and knowledge they have been learning about recently and apply this to the patient. They were also given access to a 'Building Body Parts' catalogue with CAD designs of various body parts that may be of use. They were also asked to present their research findings in the form of a scientific poster. These posters were going to be presented at the class visit to the University of Edinburgh.
